Sub 3 hour marathon.

Personal:

Married.  Stay at home mom.  My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons.  And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

Warmed up 20 minutes.

Five pick-ups @ 1 minute 10 seconds each with same down time (1:10) in between.

Picked up the pace the last mile for a split time of 8:02.  First half at threshold pace and second half at VO2 Max (up-hill).

Ali, the summer is going by so quickly, huh? Thanks for the info about the group. I'm sure at some point I'll end up running with them, so it's good to know what time they meet.

Just to give you a heads-up, it's not likely that we'll be back east at all in October for the Baltimore Marathon. :( Phillip lost his job two weeks ago, so it's not in the budget. If some miracle comes about, I'm on, but it's not looking promising at the moment. Don't know what to do about a fall marathon... I'm still training for one and keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for complimenting our picture...actually it makes me laugh because I think we all look like a bunch of carnies! I'm sooo tired of my long hair and it wasn't exactly the best scan-job on our home computer. :)
