PR 3:14:17 St. George 2007 Long-Term Running Goals: Sub 3 hour marathon. Personal: Married. Stay at home mom. My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons. And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:
In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25
Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord. Mosiah 24:15

It felt good to race this morning. I've been back running for five weeks, after taking some time off from having baby #3. I faired a better pace than I had expected and it was fun to see some of my friends.
Warmed up with Josse. 1.08 mi in 10:21
Ran the first half of the 5 miler in 21:25 and finished in 42:22
Cooled down with Josse and Jen. 1.06 mi

I'm wishing I had raced this morning. Phillip got home at 7:30am from helping the scouts with flags. I was certain that the race would have already started. I saw a cop on my run and asked him what time it began and he told me 8am. Ugh, should have called Ali last night...
Decided to warm up and pick the pace up half-way through. Felt good.
