With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

Met up with Ali, Amber, Josse and Michelle this morning at 11am.  It was fun to run as a little pack of all sista's.  Had to run up and down Canyon in order to gather everyone; my fault completely.  Didn't give a great meeting point.  Sorry ladies.

Did a loop that dipped us down into the river bottoms.  Had a dog scare us; so glad Ali was prepared with a bit of pepper spray (although she didn't end up using it).  I am so skiddish since my dog bite last winter.  Michelle had an interesting experience with a car being a bit too interested in her pit stop.  My breakfast was not sitting well, especially the last few miles.  Yuck, I hate gut issues.  But overall, a good run.

Forgot to restart my watch at one point, so I'm guessing on my time.  I ran from my house and then back home for this mornings run, so 9 miles ought to be close.

Hey! I thought we had a deal that only the person taking a pit stop is able to comment on the pit stop on the blog! You're just jealous I am at one with nature ;)

From josse on Tue, Jan 01, 2008 at 20:28:12

It was really great to see you today, sorry you didn't feel so hot. Thems the breaks when your cooking something in the pot.

From Jamie on Tue, Jan 01, 2008 at 20:33:50

You are absolutely right...truly a developed talent! I should learn how to...on the fly in case of emergencies. A girl I use to run with would time herself and could pull it off in 10 seconds...total time. Now that's fast! Definitely an advantage during races.

Oh, and "pit stop" is a bit more vague than the acronym used by Sasha and Ted. A pit stop to...smell the roses, to tie your shoe, to chuck (not that we were running that fast, to re-do your pony tail...you get the idea. Many types of pit stops :)

An easy 8 miles, here in S.F. with Amber this morning.  Felt much better today, no gut issues.  I'm tired of the cold, not much I can do about it though.  Glad I have buddies that help me get through it, by running with me.

Time 1:15

On an interesting note, I have checked my resting heart rate periodically over the last few days...most often while reading a good book and relaxing.  I counted beats during a full minute (instead of part of a minute and then multiplying to get my heart rate).  I was curious what an accurate resting heart rate would be for me, now that I'm pregnant.  More often than not, the number I got was 49 beats per minute.  The lowest, only once, was 47 BPM.  During the day, while moving about, it's typically around 69 BPM.  I wish I had checked it during the summer when I was in my best shape.  Wonder if it has changed.  Is your resting heart rate any slower when you're sleeping than when you're awake but relaxing?  Just some things to chew on.

Ran around S.F. today by myself.  Rocked out to Carrie Underwood, Elton John, and Guns & Roses.  Pace was a bit quicker than I've been in the past few days.  The temp outside was a blistering 40'F as well.  The whole thing felt great!  I love runs like today!

After my run yesterday, my family and I headed up to the Heber area for a bit of a "get away."  Went up to Soldiers Hollow for a couple hours of sledding/snow tubbing...had a blast.  Stayed the night in a hotel, where we spent hours upon hours swimming and soaking.

I'm a bit sorry that I didn't end up bringing clothing to run outside in.  The weather is beautiful!  Long-story short, ended up doing an easy 8 miles on a treadmill in the hotel.

Time 1:07 (I think.  Didn't mean to, but the weight of my towel would push the stop button and interupt my run.  Took a while to figure that out.  The stop button was in a lame spot.  Drrrr.)

Ran with Ali in Springville today.  The wind and rain were pretty awful at times, but I'm so glad that I had Ali with me to help pass the time.  Good thing we got out the door when we did.  The wind and rain in S.F. were horrid when Ali dropped me off.  Had a dog scare us half to death.  I swear that dogs sniff me out.  My poor running buddies are faced with mean dogs on a regular basis, because of me...I'm convinced.  I'm certain that we ran at least 12 miles, even though the wind and rain kept us from moving too quickly.

A heavy feeling has been accompanying my runs more and more lately.  It's common to have slow or off days, even when I'm not pregnant.  However, they occur more frequently now.  I'm glad that I have good friends that run with me anyway.  Hopefully my body will be willing to hold a decent pace throughout the winter.

Wow, were have I been? Did I miss that anouncement? Congradulations!! Some of us are just slow runners, slow to see the details ect..... I can't believe that you are doing 12 miles. How far into your pregnancies do you ususally run? That's awesome!!

From MarcieJ on Sat, Jan 05, 2008 at 15:37:33

I have never been pregnant so I dont know squat about pregnancies and running but I think its awesome you are running the miles that you are. I hope I can be just like you when the time comes for me (still a little ways off).

Also being pregnant and running the bad weather double wow!

From andee on Sat, Jan 05, 2008 at 17:49:05

Good job on your run. I'm so impressed that you have been able to keep your miles up with being pregnant - you are amazing!

From Jamie on Sun, Jan 06, 2008 at 19:11:57

Michelle, I successfully ran through my first two pregnancies (literally a shuffle toward the end of both). My pregnancies are fairly easy on me and I attribute that to my health and basically my running.

From Jamie on Sun, Jan 06, 2008 at 19:42:37

Marcie, I've run during all my pregnancies. It would be difficult to attempt the miles if I weren't already in good shape. I listen to my body and take it one day at a time.

I have become a faster runner post babies. Don't let the thought of getting slow (and fluffy!) discourage you from getting pregnant. You'll bounce back.

My babies come first in everything I do and I have never regretted that. They are worth all the effort and sacrifice made!

From Jamie on Sun, Jan 06, 2008 at 19:44:50

James & Andee, thanks for the comments. I will need more encouragement in the weeks ahead!

From MarcieJ on Sun, Jan 06, 2008 at 21:19:47

Jamie,

Oh the thought of slowing up is not all discouraging or will discourage me at all from getting pregnant. Its just not quite in the plan yet. But its good to know people like you that can give me good advice about what to expect when that time comes!

Just heard some awful news.  A woman I visit-taught (when I lived in Lehi) was shot and killed by her husband in an LDS Stake Center parking lot today.  Her name...Christy Ragsdale.  It happened around 11am this morning.  She left behind two toddler boys, ages 3 and 1 1/2.  Her husband turned himself in.  Saw it on the news and it still hasn't sunken in.  I feel so bad for her little boys and her family.  Very, very sad.

Ran in Springville with Ali this morning.  Hard to tell just how many miles we did; I think it was 8 or so.  Left S.F. to get out of the wind but faced some pretty bad stretches anyway.  The slushy roads had frozen and that made it difficult.  We were either slipping or running too close to traffic.  We spent a good part of our run talking about the murder of Christy Ragsdale yesterday.  Having a hard time thinking about anything else.  How tragic, how sad!  Glad to have my run in for the morning.  Nine weeks pregnant.

How were the temps this morning? I hope you felt good during the run. Is your asthma any different when you are pregnant?

From Jamie on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 16:28:19

Michelle, This morning the temp was in the low 20's, so not bad. I'm can deal as long as I'm not running in the cold and wind at the same time (mind you I don't like the single digits at all!).

It was a good run this morning. It's funny that you mentioned my asthma. I forgot to take my inhaler before meeting up with Amber. She was nice enough to run back to my home with me so that I could use it. I have experienced no problems while on this new medication and wish I would have found it sooner. Mind you I still have to use my inhaler before a run or any physical activity, but no complaints here. My asthma has not changed, that I can tell, since getting pregnant.

How is Hawaii? Amber and I were wondering, this morning, how your trip has been so far! I'm sure you and your husband are having a blast. Be sure to fill us in on all the details. See you when you get back. When is that, by the way?

From MichelleL on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 16:38:49

I get back on Friday afternoon, so please email me your plans for Saturday morning as I will try to tag along with someone's plans that morning.

I am actually not doing alot of exciting things in Hawaii, you get to do more the more money you have, but reading in a hammock by the ocean (what I am about to do right now) is real vacation time.

From Jamie on Tue, Jan 08, 2008 at 16:48:49

The Sojourners' are meeting at the mouth of Provo Canyon Saturday. There's a good chance that we'll do a loop that goes by the temple. If (and that's a big if!) there is no wind up the canyon that morning, we may run up the River Trail.

Your vacation sounds like paradise to me!

S.F. was a winter wonderland this morning.  Temp was about freezing, so not too cold.  It snowed the entire time.  Amber and I collected snow flakes on our eyelashes.  We ran on at least a couple inches of powder and although not a quick pace, at least it wasn't slick.  It was pretty nice actually, not many people out on the roads yet.  We did a loop from 8th East toward the old highway, past the movie theater and then Macey's, a few blocks west of main, back on 3rd South, a loop around Scenic (to drop off Amber) and then home.

I continue to brace myself for a morning where I meet my limit in conditions that I'm unwilling to run in.  January is the worse winter month, hopefully I can get through it.  So far, so good.  Thanks Amber for such a great run!

Ran with Amber and Ali.  There was no wind heading East on Canyon (which is UNHEARD of in the winter) so we switched up our route.  Ran East then dropped down into the River Bottoms, which ended up not being too bad.  There was little traffic and I haven't run down there in a while, which was a nice change.  Jumped back up into the neighborhoods and onto Scenic.  The three of us split ways at the Jr. High and all headed home.

Felt good waking up this morning on 7 hours of sleep.  Go figure.  An easy 8 miles with Ali this morning.  The distance may have been slightly more.  I stretched out the very last part of my run, when close to my home.  I think I had a few more miles in me...wish Ali and I had gone a bit further.  Had to get back for Phillip, but he ended up leaving the house a half-hour later than he had originally planned.

It was cold and lightly snowing, but there was little wind (thank goodness).  Can't wait until winter is OVER!  I suppose I shouldn't complain so much.  I'm going to be dying from the heat in the summer.  I don't know which extreme is worse, honestly.  I hate them both.

I had a congested baby early this morning; I wasn't able to fall back to sleep after taking care of him.  So, I decided to start my run a bit early.  Ran a longer route to the Stake Center to meet Michelle.  Did circles around the building, in the parking lot for about 10 minutes, tempted all-the-while to wait inside the Stake Center.  It was about 6'F this morning!  Ugh!  (A group of Basketball players had unlocked the doors.)  Michelle is typically on time, so I knew something had happened.  She ended up sleeping through her alarm.

I decided, since I was already a good bit into my run, to keep going and get it over with.  Guessed on an approximate 8 mile route.  I was unwilling to look at my watch because, half way through, my hands were ice blocks.  Sheer misery!  Upon arriving home, I checked my watch and was surprised that I was out a bit longer than I had thought.  Distance is approximate...I'm counting it as a 9  miler.

Stacy, thanks for the encouragement. I trained pretty well for the St. George Marathon (this past October), so I started this pregnancy in pretty good shape. I'm not doing anything crazy anymore, like speed/hill workouts. Getting out for an 8 (or so) miler isn't hard on me because I've been doing it for the past year. Not sure how long I can keep up the miles that I'm accustomed to. I just feel it out from one day to the next. Keep on truckin' eh?

Sorry you weren't able to get your run it, but I know you'll have a great one tomorrow. You can blame being tired and grumpy on being pregnant! Have you had to slow down or ease up on your runs being pregnant?

Not sure if 9 miles is accurate.  Could have been a bit more.  Ali and I did a Springville/Mapleton loop this morning.  It's been a long time since I last ran in that direction.  Nice to switch it up a bit.  It was warmer than I had anticipated; I'm always grateful for that!  Stopped my watch at one point and forgot to start it again.  Most of the run was unaccounted for, so not sure of the approximate time.  Felt much better this morning.

Ran this morning by my lonesome.  Had considered meeting up with Michelle and Josse, but didn't get to bed last night until 11pm (for a number of reasons).  I was sure that getting up in the 4 o'clock hour for a 5am run would do me in.  And the other ladies had planned on a bit of speed work, which I don't know if I'm up for anymore.  Felt heavy this morning, but glad that I was able to get out.

Ali ran to my house this morning.  We ended up running together for (almost) an hour.  She needed to get back for her husband.  I added about 35 minutes onto my run from her house.  The wind was perhaps the worst I've ever run in before.  But after having a rough time last week, it felt so good to get out for a while.  Miles were very slow and distance is approximate.

My first doctor's appointment was this afternoon and the baby is doing well.  In the ultrasound, the fetus measured big and my due date was bumped up a bit to August 11.  I'm 12 weeks along exactly.  I'll take it!  Heard the heart beat and all of it was a good way for my pregnancy to feel real.  I haven't been sick at all, just tired.  Sometimes it takes something like an ultrasound for me to feel like I really am pregnant and not just nutty in the head.  Twins run on both sides of our families and it put my mind at rest to see only one fetus.  I'd take two in one shot, but it's not my preference.  I'm so grateful for a healthy body and the ability to continue a normal routine, which of coarse includes one of my loves...running.  Feeling really good.

Wight in the doctor's office:  127lbs (includes 1.5 lbs clothing.)  Weighed 125lbs at the doctor's on 11/8/07 with my lowest (that I'm aware of) being 122.5lbs (without clothing at Tammy's) about two weeks before that.  Nurse says a healthy weight gain for me will be 35lbs.  Twenty eight weeks to go!  Next appointment is in 4 weeks.

It was pretty horrid, huh? I was itching to be out so badly that I just dealt with it. Nice that it wasn't cold...don't know if I could have cut it if it had been. Noticed the speed you and Josse did (Tuesday). Good job with the tough workouts in winter conditions!

Easy run this morning with my tunes.  I started at about 6:30am; I am certain that the extra bit of sleep is helping.  I feel tired but am able to get through the days (sometimes with a nap in there as well).  I miss getting out with some of the other ladies, but am afraid that getting out much earlier would be too hard on me.  Not to mention that their easy pace might be uncomfortably fast for me now.

Nothing too terribly exciting to mention.  Felt good to get out.

Woke up at 3am to use the bathroom and couldn't fall back asleep.  Stayed in bed until my alarm went off and then got up to check out the weather conditions.

Ali called and canceled so I knew I was on my own.  Perfect timing for my run this morning, considering the weather.  It stopped snowing just before I got out the door  :)  It was pretty quiet on the streets and although I wasn't moving very quickly, I was happy to be out in the peacefulness of it all.  Three blocks from home I was literally met with a cold wall of wind!  It was the only wind I had to run in this morning...so glad that I was at the end of my run.  Distance is approximate...could have been closer to 8 miles.

It's cold this morning!  Brrrrr!  Once again out on my own for my run.

A man driving an SUV rolled through a stop sign and would have hit me, had I not anticipated his obliviousness (is that a word?).  I put my hands up as if to say, "hello...a bit more attention to pedestrians please!"  He didn't like that too well.  Next thing I know he's got his head out his car window and is yelling profanities in my direction.  It raised my blood pressure a bit, I'm sure.  I get a bit feisty when people are punks.

It's the 31st of January baby!  Not the best month for me running wise, but I'm optimistic that it will just get better from here.  I'm so done with the cold temps!  Worst month's over with!

Ran the Bonneville Shoreline trail with Ali and the Sojourners.  Absolutely loved it!  There was a fair amount of snow that we trudged through, but it was well worth the effort.  I wish I lived closer to Provo; I really miss doing some of the runs up there!

My pace is slowing.  I had chalked a lot of it up to slower miles in winter conditions and nasty roads.  But, I guess I hadn't realized just how much natural slowing I've done, until the last couple of runs.  Especially today...it's obvious I've lost some of my strength.  I was pretty slow in the hills.  The only reason it makes me a bit sad is because I had hoped that I'd be able to run with Ali and some of the other runners for longer than I (now) think I'll be able to.  My lack of hill running lately made for a bit of soreness today.

Feeling healthy.  Great run.  No complaints.

Hey Jamie, I miss running with you! It sounds like you had a fun run today. The miles are more important than your pace at this point, but you can do one mild tempo a week to try to slow the rate of fitness loss during pregnancy.

From Jamie on Mon, Feb 04, 2008 at 12:59:21

Michelle, I'm able to sleep in a bit on M,W,&F and run with Ali, so I take advantage of that.

I would be willing to get out a bit earlier on T&Th if it meant having someone to run with. Five or earlier is pushing it for me because I need my sleep so badly. I know that you are limited because of work.

Let me know if there are T&Th's where you can meet a bit later. I'd love to run with you again.

Easy run with Ali this morning.  I'm fighting a bit of a cold, which is attempting to move down into my chest and lungs.  I think I'm doing a fairly good job at holding it off.  Our route dipped us down into the River Bottoms, across main, past the ball fields and S.F. Sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope it end quickly and you are able to get back to your normal routine of things. You are doing so great - and I'm so impressed that at 13 weeks you are still going out and getting 7 miles in. Keep up the good work.

From MichelleL on Fri, Feb 08, 2008 at 14:31:54

1/3 of the way through your pregnancy!

So when I have been pregnant quite a few of the runs I did were of the "just forced myself to get out there but the pace was horrible" variety. Its great that you are keeping up the mileage. I would say when you are sick to try to get out there anyway. At least don't let any more days go by than is necessary because it gets progressively more difficult the further along you get. You know all this already. Also, running while sick can be a good way to fight sickness by raising your body temp, just so long you don't do a hard workout.

From Jamie on Fri, Feb 08, 2008 at 22:39:15

Josse, it's not even really the pregnancy that's been an issue. That's the annoying part. I've just had a bad cold. (Although, I'm pretty tired throughout my pregnancies.)

From Jamie on Fri, Feb 08, 2008 at 22:40:31

Andee, thanks for the words of encouragement. If I could stay healthy, I'd have no problems with my running! How are you doing?

From Jamie on Fri, Feb 08, 2008 at 22:47:50

Michelle, I was thinking to myself, "1/3 of the way" just this morning! Honestly, I wish I could just forget how far along I am. I think it'd go by much faster.

The miles aren't a problem, as of now. My pace has slowed, which is a bit annoying. But a normal 8-10miler doesn't bother me now much more than it did before I was pregnant. Hills are starting to kick my butt (I'm slow), but I think it will be a number of weeks before I have to walk up them. I can't complain, really. Just wish I could hold off the colds. How are you holding in there with such little sleep and still running all those miles. I'm amazed!

Ran with Ali, Josse, MacKenzie, and Michelle this morning.  It's been a while since I've run with all of them and I really enjoyed it!

I'm totally guessing my mileage for today and I'm also guessing my time.  I didn't get my watch started again when we left the Bishop's storehouse.  Ugh.  Started it again while running solo in Leland.  All the other ladies ran more miles by throwing a tempo in there.  (Michelle and Josse ran considerably more miles because they kept going when MacKenzie and I turned up the hill, from the river bottoms, to head back to our cars.)

I figured I had done my tempo by trying to stay with them during their warm up and cool down miles.  I was breathing a bit heavy, but their company was worth the borderline uncomfortable effort.  :)  I think the pace with them averaged anywhere from 7:45-8:15 minute miles.

Slept in a bit and started my run at 6:30am.  It's not everyday that I'm able to get out the door that late, but it was nice to be able to this morning.

My pace is funny lately; it's getting slower for sure.  With how my knees have felt on a few of the runs, I'm not surprised to look back and see significantly slower miles.  Felt somewhat normal today.  I mentioned to Ali earlier in the week that I'm starting to wonder if I should stop meeting up with her.  She's been kind to keep my pace but even that pace, the past few days, is uncomfortable for me.  I knew it was coming, but hoped that I could postpone it a bit longer.  I have adjusted to running on my own, which was difficult for me.  I miss my gal pals.  Oh well, such is the nature of pregnancy.

Jamie, first time looking at your blog, I read your 10 minute negative split second half of St. George last year, awesome, by the way, check out the picture on my blog, is by chance that you right behind me, if so, you were not behind me long. I am thinking it had to be you, only one other women passed me the second half. Great race.

Brent, nice to meet ya! St. George was a great race...love that coarse. I checked out your blog. Actually the woman behind you wasn't me. But there's a good chance my mug is out there somewhere.

From reading your blog, it looks like you've got your year booked out with races. Way to plan ahead!

Ran to the Bishop's storehouse; I passed Ali on the way.  (She was headed home.)  Hooked up with the S.F. group.  My pace felt great today, compared to runs over the past week.  Michelle kept an easy pace and I was able to catch up on the latest with her; I have missed running with friends!  I'm glad that I decided to stay in S.F.  The run seemed to go by so fast.  Warmer temps have me excited and looking forward to spring time.  :)  I'm guessing that I ran about 9 miles this morning.

It was cold this morning...about 20'F, I think.  Had a pretty bad cramp on my left side for the first few miles, so they ended up being really slow.  Kept a slow pace most of the run; didn't feel like fighting the wind more than necessary.

Toward the end of my route there was a mile stretch that I'm pretty familiar with; I decided to pick it up a bit since I was warmed up.  I wasn't uncomfortable...just putting in a quicker effort than what I typically do now.  I ran it in 7:27 and it felt good.  Seventeen weeks pregnant today.

Slept in a bit too long and got out the door late.  Tried to keep a quicker pace but it wasn't happening.  Not too terribly slow but nothing to write home about.  This morning's route could have been a bit longer but I'll go conservative and call it 7 miles.

Ali called last night wondering if I wanted to run with her this morning.  No need to wonder...I love running with buddies.  It was good to get out with her.  We kept a bit of a faster pace than I would have on my own.  Good thing my body was up for it.

I ended up adding on a good bit around my neighborhood after splitting from Ali.  I wanted to take advantage of how good I felt.  Hopefully Friday will be another good day.

I'm so glad you are still blogging. It makes me feel better seeing another pregnant lady on here. I knew one other gal that ran pregnant when I was running pregnant. She had won the Desert News Marathon a couple of years back. I remember her doing a four mile run on hills (we had some nasty ones in our neighborhood) the day before she delivered. I always slow down and cut down the distance starting at about 30 weeks...by about 2 weeks before I'm only doing 1 mile a day and it's veeery slow. I'm still lifting up my feet but just baaarely.

From Jamie on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 09:40:12

We could use more pregnant ladies huh? ...At least for the moral support.

You are still doing great Sarah! I wish I would have been more consistent, like you. I've had some rough weeks. Now and then I'm blessed with days sent from above and I'm always grateful for them.

Hey ladies, I'm feeling pretty good. Obviously I haven't been super consistent for the past 10 weeks. It's hard to beat running with a buddy.

My husband was in New Jersey on business last week and all of us have been sick as well. I didn't get out at all. Michelle is right, runs get harder the bigger I get. I have good days and bad. Still feels good to get out and exercise though...even at the piddle miles I'm doing.

My daughter came 4 days early and my son came 12 days early...so lets hope this one follows suit! :)

Hey Jamie,

31 weeks or 32 weeks by now! You've got to hop on the blog and update us on how you are doing! I hope all is well.

From amber on Sat, Jun 14, 2008 at 19:04:52

Jamie- I have been thinking about you a lot the last few weeks. Congratulations on your little boy. Who is your doctor? Is he okay with you running while pregnant?

From Jamie on Thu, Jun 19, 2008 at 11:17:52

Shanmarie, it is good to find other women who can share joys and challenges. Tell me about yourself.

Sorry to all of you who have commented on my blog recently...I've been slacking. Thanks for checking up on me; I appreciate it!

Michelle, I am 32 weeks along and doing well. This pregnancy has been harder than my first two. Can't complain too much though, I'm sure my aches, etc. hardly compare to most pregnant women. How is your running going?

Amber, it's been a while, eh? How have you been up in Lehi? I love that area; my parents live up there. My doctor is Gregory Gordon out of Provo (Aspen OB/GYN). I like him a lot; he delivered my first two. He encourages me to run as long as I'm feeling okay.

Okay...we have to live next to each other for our next pregnancy and run together...I'm impressed that you are still doing 4 some days. I will probably be at 14 minute mile pace for 3 miles when I'm 30 weeks pregnant...I'm just too big then.

From amber on Thu, Jun 19, 2008 at 17:41:25

Hey Jamie! Yeah, it has been a while, but I am glad to be back. I am so impressed that you are still running. I think I only ran up to about 28 weeks with Malaina, then it was just too uncomfortable. You are inspiration for me with my next.

We like the Lehi area okay. Our ward is not very out going and I really miss Spanish Fork. I think things should change once we buy a home though. I keep hoping gas prices will go down so we can move back to SF. It may be a long shot, but who knows?

Good luck with everything! Keep me posted. I think 2008 must be the year of the boy. I only know 2 people out of about 20 that are having girls! I hope you are getting some much needed relief from this heat. :)

Wow I'm impressed you are still at it. Not to much longer, are you excited? Allthough for me the last 2 months seems to take the longest.

From Jamie on Sat, Jun 21, 2008 at 19:30:01

"At it" is a very relative term. It's been really hit and miss. An attempt at "hanging in there" is probably more accurate.

I've been dealing with (animal induced) allergies the past couple of days.  To top it off, my inhaler is missing.  The combination of the two means no running.  I walked about 3 miles this morning.

Phillip is back home after being out of town all of last week.  It felt good to be able to get out and move a little...even if it was only for a walk (without kidlets).

No Hawk never called me. I might not be fast enough for his clan. I am going to a marathon in Idaho. Aug. 23 is the mesa falls marathon. We shall see how it goes. I don't have a constant running pal so I don't know if I will be as fast as last year. Has this pregnancy gone by fast for you. I Can't believe you have 6 weeks left. Crazy! Crazy!

From Jamie on Mon, Jul 28, 2008 at 11:19:35

Josse, you are right about the heat. But the end is now in sight! :)

I went early with my first two, so it really could be any day now!

Not that I'm doing much exercising now, but I will stop completely once I deliver. I'm hoping that my nursing will go better this time. Not really looking forward to (eventually) coming back to running with nothing. Did it once before and it's torture...oh well.

How is your running going?

It is all going good, getting some pr's and running lots of miles. Hopefully it will show in SG this year.

Jaime you are amazing to still be doing anything I hope that all goes well with the delivery for you. I don't have you to come and kick my butt on training this year which I need because I am doing St. George this year. First marathon for me. I hope I enjoy it. Anyways like I said you are amazing.

From Jamie on Mon, Jul 28, 2008 at 10:47:21

There is no doubt in my mind that you'll kick trash down at St. George this year. I am amazed you've been running as long as you have (with your wife and in-laws) and haven't gotten a marathon under your belt yet. You are a great runner. I am jealous of all the runs the group has been doing lately. This is usually the funnest part of year for me. Anyhow, good to see you and your wife are on the blog. Keep me updated on what the two of you are up to and tell her hi for me!

I'm hoping since you haven't posted for a few days that means you had the baby. I feel like I've been hit by a truck for a few days so no hurry but I'd love to know how you are doing.

From Jamie on Wed, Aug 06, 2008 at 21:47:40

Sarah, I think I'm close...but no baby yet. I'm uncomfortable at times, but nothing unbearable. I'm being patient; babies come when they're suppose to. My doctor doesn't like to let mothers go more than one week past due date. I hope he comes before then; I'm not too interested in being induced.

Hope you're well. I'll keep you updated on my progress, but be sure to do the same thing for me. Take care.

From sarah on Wed, Aug 06, 2008 at 22:42:40

He'll come soon. Being induced is no fun...I'm not too happy about doctors doing that but then again I'm a natural/midwife/homebirth type of lady so I don't know much about the way doctors do things and why.I always assume because its for their own convenience but I'm sure they could come up with a medical reason if they had to. I hope it doesn't come to that but you are experienced enough already that I'm sure you'll be fine. If you want any support though...drop me a line or give me a call. I love to talk to other ladies about it. 788-4608

Had a healthy baby boy one week ago. Everything went very well and we are so glad he's finally here!  He has the sweetest disposition and is the best little baby in the world.  We named him Preston Scott; he was 8 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long.  I'm tired but enjoying him so much.

From josse on Fri, Sep 26, 2008 at 00:43:35

Hope everything is going well. And you are nice and recovered from the birth. When you lookin at coming back? Not to rush you or anything. I remeber you saying you would give it more time to see if the nursing thing works out better this time. Hope that is working out for you. Think about you often and hope to see you on the road again.
