Played basketball with Alexis and Luke for 40 minutes. Then drove to Springville for the 5k.
Really wierd race experience.
The race started by heading South and up-hill this year (it's been a number of years since I've run the Nestle 5k). We ran the course backwards.
Warmed up 1.3 miles and slowly jogged toward the start. I heard the race begin but never did see a starting line above me or on the ground. With a wall of runners and strollers ahead of me, I kept thinking I would come upon it at any moment. Ended up being about .25, I think. (Never did see the starting line; the race director had cleaning up by the time I finished and inquired.) Somehow missed the first mile marker as well.
It took me a while to work into a hard pace. One month ago (May 2nd) my pace was considerably quicker.
To top it off, I must have accidently deleted my race time on my watch. Frusterated and frazzled by the whole thing.
