Personal:

Married.  Stay at home mom.  My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons.  And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

The Earn Your Turkey Race went well today even though it was 9'F at the start.  Brrr!!  At those temps, moving your tail feathers is the only way to keep warm.  Hands down the coldest race I've ever participated in.  My expectations were very low; I braced for it to be an awful experience.  Considering the conditions and being 28 weeks along with baby #4, I'm happy with how it went.

I averaged an 8:27 mile.

My course record is a 6:24 average, which I ran back in '07.  Placing 5th for the Overall Female Open Winners.

The kids did well.  Preston took 2nd place for his division (800 meters) and won a pie!  He was in awe the entire race because of the crowd.  For the 1/2 mile, Luke was a trooper and ran without me beside him for the first time because I hung back a bit with Alexis.  Alexis's right knee has been bothering her, and so I helped her though it.  I'm so proud of her for not giving up!

We took home a frozen turkey (which I "earned" for racing pregnant), Preston's pie, a Village Inn t-shirt (more like a moo-moo), and two turkey vouchers from the random drawing.  Happy Day!  So much to be thankful for!
