Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub 3 hour marathon.

Personal:

Married.  Stay at home mom.  My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons.  And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

Went to my 16 week appointment.  My blood work came back and we (the baby and I) are doing great.  Weight 133lbs.  Next appointment is an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby!  I'm stoked.

Got my run in; felt good.  My knees are feeling better (particularly my right knee).  Bought two new pairs of running shoes.  Almost like Christmas in February!  Speaking of February, we are almost done with it...and along with that the unbearable winter temps.  I've been waiting for this!

Ran a bit through the River Bottoms and then proceeded with the IFA loop from Main.  Felt slower (like yesterday) until about 5 miles into the run.  Picked it up a bit and felt strong the remainder of the run.  Right knee bothered me a little; can't complain too much.

Slept in a bit and started my run at 6:30am.  It's not everyday that I'm able to get out the door that late, but it was nice to be able to this morning.

My pace is funny lately; it's getting slower for sure.  With how my knees have felt on a few of the runs, I'm not surprised to look back and see significantly slower miles.  Felt somewhat normal today.  I mentioned to Ali earlier in the week that I'm starting to wonder if I should stop meeting up with her.  She's been kind to keep my pace but even that pace, the past few days, is uncomfortable for me.  I knew it was coming, but hoped that I could postpone it a bit longer.  I have adjusted to running on my own, which was difficult for me.  I miss my gal pals.  Oh well, such is the nature of pregnancy.

I've been trying to switch my routes up a bit in order to not get too bored.  Nothing too terribly exciting.  Felt slow again.  I have missed the streets of Provo ever since moving from there.  I got to know that city pretty stinkin' well.

My knees are pretty much back to normal.  I'm sure the new shoes have helped.  :)  Glad it's the weekend!

Ran to the Bishop's storehouse; I passed Ali on the way.  (She was headed home.)  Hooked up with the S.F. group.  My pace felt great today, compared to runs over the past week.  Michelle kept an easy pace and I was able to catch up on the latest with her; I have missed running with friends!  I'm glad that I decided to stay in S.F.  The run seemed to go by so fast.  Warmer temps have me excited and looking forward to spring time.  :)  I'm guessing that I ran about 9 miles this morning.
