Personal:

Married.  Stay at home mom.  My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons.  And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

Welcome to the blog! Are you Michelle's training partner?

From Lybi on Tue, Nov 06, 2007 at 22:22:16

Hey Jamie! Welcome to the blog. So you are pregnant? Congratulations! This is awesome. I am also hoping to be able to run through my next pregnancy (if that happens).

Fast Running Mommy on the blog has run through several pregnancies, so she'd be a good one to ask if you have questions.

How many weekly miles were you getting before the pregnancy?

Great job on your run, by the way. Good pace for 7 miles!

From Michelle on Tue, Nov 06, 2007 at 23:27:34

Welcome to the blog! Love to have more mom's with busy lives to motivate us!

From Jamie on Tue, Nov 06, 2007 at 23:43:05

Sasha, thanks for the welcome. I'm excited to join you.

Lybi, I'm not pregnant yet...I'll keep you updated. My peak milage weeks before St.George were in the 60's. Right now, I'm doing about 45ish.

Michelle, I'm headed to bed so that I can meet you tomorrow! Bring on the speed-work, baby. Fingers crossed...my lungs and back will be in great shape for tomorrow's run!

good to see you on the blog. Look forward to training with you more.

Hi Jamie, Welcome to the blog! I am Tom's wife. I told him he runs like girls! (OK, so VERY SPEEDY Girls!) I wish I were speedy enough to join you all. But even if I were I'm not sure I could do that early morning stuff! It will be good blogging with you!

From Tom on Wed, Nov 07, 2007 at 10:43:44

Welcome to the blog Jamie! It's always great to have more people on the blog from down Spanish Fork way that I actually know. You've been running great the last few weeks. Hey if I can just manage to keep up with all you speedster girls I'll be happy to accept the "runs like girls" title.

Michelle-

Jamie is not stalking you, she thought you were me? Well we could be twins right?

Jamie-Thanks so much for joining the blog! It is wonderful to find a motivating, positive running partner like yourself, and you joining the blog just makes it that much better.

Now just slow down on the baby making talk and start talking to hubby instead about doing Painter's 1/2 marathon in St. G first! It can be our last hurrah (yours before baby, mine before tax season).

From Jamie on Wed, Nov 07, 2007 at 15:53:53

Michelle,

I am happy to join the blog. Great motivation for putting in all those "baby miles."

Can't slow down the baby making talk...too late for that! One will coming at will. You never know, it may be a while.

Good run this morning! Feels good to be a bit speedier now and then.

Josse, Tom, and Kim...

Good to have a few more helping me get out of bed every morning. Thanks!

Howdy! Wow, moms that run are the coolest! I know that's one of the reasons I started. Heard my mom talk about her 3:42 marathon back in the day. I only hope one day I can kick her butt and shatter that time! :) Keep up the great work and look forward to hearing more from you!

Benn,

Thanks; you too.

I actually came to know of it from looking around google.com. I had used a running-journal.com for college xc one year, but I don't like their format. And I really like the customizeable browser and entry form on this site. I just wish I had found it a long time ago!!

Welcome to the blog! Always fun to have more girls join! I am in the YW presidency in my ward (1st couns) also. Fun stuff. Are you originally from Spanish Fork or a move-in? My friend married a Spanish Fork guy, Kyle Wilson. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy the "family" of the blog!

From Michelle on Wed, Nov 07, 2007 at 23:02:43

Don't worry about it, Just remeber that Michelle L. is the fast one but I'd love to be mistaken as her in a race! I'd shatter anything I've ever done or hoped too! Maybe just sharing the name will have some positive effects!!! :)
