Personal:

Married.  Stay at home mom.  My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons.  And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

Best guess on mileage today; could have been more.  Ran on a trail in snow for 70% of the run.  Ended up meeting up with the Sojourners' after all.  We met at the mouth of Provo canyon and decided to run AWAY from the wind and that meant away from the scheduled run up the canyon.  No tears on my part, brrrr!  Cheryl was full of interesting stories and time passed quickly.

I need to be getting in more miles by warming up before the group meets, if I'm wanting to do more than 10-12 miles on Saturdays.  About half of the group did 8 miles; most Sojourners' take it way easy during the winter.  So easy that there were only about 7 of us this morning.  (During the summer it's typically around 30 runners.)  I am trying to break myself of this exact habit.  I'm glad I ended up meeting up with them and look forward to it every week.

I am glad you didnt have to run into the wind! Its so nice to have good conversation during running, it really helps when the conditions are not ideal. And great job on keeping your mileage up, i think you so far have done excellent on not "taking it easy". you all have motivated me to do the same. thanks:)

Josse, I'll take you up on that...hopefully sooner than later! Keep me updated.

Marcie, the blog totally helps, huh? Running in the wind, at times, is enough to question my sanity. Thanks for your encouragement...right back at ch'ya
