Personal:

Married.  Stay at home mom.  My husband and I have 2 daughters and 4 sons.  And I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

With a seemingly impossible long-term goal of running a sub 3 hour marathon, the following scriptures give me hope:

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:4

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25

Submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.         Mosiah 24:15

And Ezra teaches that discipline and patience are born of disappointment.

Ali ran to my house this morning.  We ended up running together for (almost) an hour.  She needed to get back for her husband.  I added about 35 minutes onto my run from her house.  The wind was perhaps the worst I've ever run in before.  But after having a rough time last week, it felt so good to get out for a while.  Miles were very slow and distance is approximate.

Time  1:32

My first doctor's appointment was this afternoon and the baby is doing well.  In the ultrasound, the fetus measured big and my due date was bumped up a bit to August 11.  I'm 12 weeks along exactly.  I'll take it!  Heard the heart beat and all of it was a good way for my pregnancy to feel real.  I haven't been sick at all, just tired.  Sometimes it takes something like an ultrasound for me to feel like I really am pregnant and not just nutty in the head.  Twins run on both sides of our families and it put my mind at rest to see only one fetus.  I'd take two in one shot, but it's not my preference.  I'm so grateful for a healthy body and the ability to continue a normal routine, which of coarse includes one of my loves...running.  Feeling really good.

Wight in the doctor's office:  127lbs (includes 1.5 lbs clothing.)  Weighed 125lbs at the doctor's on 11/8/07 with my lowest (that I'm aware of) being 122.5lbs (without clothing at Tammy's) about two weeks before that.  Nurse says a healthy weight gain for me will be 35lbs.  Twenty eight weeks to go!  Next appointment is in 4 weeks.

I thought the wind would be mild in SF since it was so bad in Salem. Good for you for staying out there the whole time. I chickened out after six miles and ran inside.

It was pretty horrid, huh? I was itching to be out so badly that I just dealt with it. Nice that it wasn't cold...don't know if I could have cut it if it had been. Noticed the speed you and Josse did (Tuesday). Good job with the tough workouts in winter conditions!

How much did you gain in your previous pregnancies?

From Jamie on Tue, Jan 29, 2008 at 13:29:02

First pregnancy from 132lbs to 160lbs.

Five months between first and second pregnancies.

Second pregnancy from 137lbs to 165lbs.
